As these games basically include graphics, so a special hardware must be there in the computer which favors the computer games. The hardware could be a graphics processing unit. The function of graphics processing unit is to speed up the procedure of drawing multifaceted scenes in real-time. However, the hardware requirement may be different for different computer games. Other hardware that is required is: sound card, physics processing units, joysticks, keyboard, mouse gamepads etc. Some make use of software called as emulation software. This software is capable of running those games on the computer which is designed only for the consoles or certain operating system. These are also called as console emulator. NESticle and MAME are two such console emulators.
